On Wednesday, I’ll be putting on the penguin suit and joining hundreds of insurance professionals at the Royal Albert Hall for the British Insurance Awards.
Win or lose, it’s a fantastic achievement to be shortlisted for MGA of the Year. We’re also in the running for Best Insurance Employer – one of only six employers rated 5* out of the hundreds that were nominated for the SME award. That, I think, really shows that incredible results can be achieved in the right way: with a happy team of people who are passionate about the vision.
That vision has seen us hit some incredible milestones in the last year. In November 2023 we reached profitability, so we’re no longer burning cash. 2024 will see us write over £150m GWP while maintaining our current loss ratio below 50%. We’ll also be the first insurer to bring the benefits of connected insurance to older drivers, with a product designed entirely for them from the ground up.
It’s not all about awards, but recognition does have a funny way of showing up when you’re doing something important, and doing it well.
