Report a claim within 24 hours to save £150

If you ever need to claim, you’re in safe hands – and we’ll give you £150 off your total excess if you report your claim within 24 hours.*

* Windscreen, fire and theft claims not included. Any claim must be reported within the first 24 hours of an incident and will be subject to review.

What to do if you’ve just had a crash

1. Stop safely

Make sure your vehicle is stopped in a safe place if possible, with the hazard lights on.

Get yourself and any passengers to a safe position, away from traffic.

If anyone is hurt, call 999.

2. Don’t discuss fault

Even if you think you might have caused the crash, don’t discuss whose fault it is – we’ll sort this out for you.

It feels natural to start apologising, but you may not know what’s actually happened until it’s investigated.

3. Exchange details

Exchange details with any other drivers:

  • Driver names and contact numbers
  • Vehicle registrations

Ask witnesses for their name and number so we can talk to them if necessary. Ask any police for their names and ID numbers.

4. Take photos

Take lots of photos of the scene, including numberplates, if it’s safe.

Try to get detailed pictures of any damage, the positions of the vehicles and the road conditions.

5. Call us right away

Calling us as soon as you have the details you need is very important. You can call 24/7 from your Ticker app or on 0330 0533 727.

If you report a claim within 24 hours, we may reduce your excess by £150.

6. Only talk to Ticker

Don’t talk to anyone who says they’re calling ‘on behalf of your insurer’ rather than Ticker.

Your claim will be managed by our claims partners (Carpenters or S&G Response), but they’ll always refer to Ticker by name.
